Abstract

Besides cervical cancer, breast cancer is the biggest threat to women. Breast cancer occurs when cells in the breast grow uncontrollably and abnormally. Generally, these cells form tumors that resemble lumps. However, lumps are not always an early sign of breast cancer. Breast suggestions, either independently or with the help of a doctor, can prevent breast cancer. A person at risk of breast cancer should undergo regular check-ups.  This research aims to determine the effectiveness of a planned teaching intervention on the knowledge and practice of breast self-examination for female students at SMA Toga Terang Bekasi. This research used a Quasi-Experiment with a "one group pretest-posttest" design. The results, show an increase in the mean knowledge score of 47.63% and BSE practice of 29.71% after the pre-test and post-test. Thus, it can be concluded that there is the effectiveness of planned teaching interventions on the knowledge and practice of breast self-examination of female students at Toga Terang High School, Bekasi
