Abstract

Student academic achievement is a key indicator in evaluating the quality of education. This study aims to improve the academic performance of Informatics Engineering students at UNSRAT through the implementation of the Random Forest algorithm to develop more optimal learning strategies. Data were collected through questionnaires covering internal and external student factors, then analyzed using a data mining approach. The Random Forest algorithm was applied to classify data patterns and identify the most influential variables affecting academic performance. The results show that factors such as time management, attendance, and learning motivation significantly contribute to students’ grade point averages. The developed model provides strategic insights for educational decision-makers in designing more adaptive and targeted learning systems. The implications of this research are expected to support academic programs on campus in enhancing the quality of graduates in the field of information technology
