STUDI KASUS MASYARAKAT BADUY DI DESA KANEKES, KECAMATAN LEUWIDAMAR, KABUPATEN LEBAK

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the independence of on of the tribes in Indonesia. Namely the baduy tribe which is not affected by the hustle and bustle of globalization and modernization that is happening. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method based on etnography starting from the research paradigm, type of research, research object, data collection and data analysis. Primary sources were obtained from interview with inside and outside baduy communities, community leaders (jaro) in kanekes village and using secondary data such as the central bureau if statistic of lebak regency. The data is then analyzed its contents and presented in the form of descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that the baduy community is not affected by the currents of globalization and modernization that is happening in the world. They live together with nature, with their seba tradition they maintain and preserve the ulayat land for their children and grand children. Based on an analysis of the collected sources, it can be concluded that seba is a tradition of the baduy community that applies local wisdom. Because it will not be timeless, because it is a symbol of the relationship between the baduy people and the government, because they are not affected by modern life and continue to preserve the culture of farming for their own needs.
