Abstract

Concrete is widely used in construction for its compressive strength, making compressive strength testing a key quality indicator. Low-grade concrete such as K-150 (Fc′ 12.5 MPa) is still applied in non-structural works but must meet minimum strength standards. This study observes the compressive strength development of K-150 concrete at 7, 14, and 28 days following SNI 7656:2012, using 15×30 cm cylindrical specimens made from Portland cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, water, and admixtures if needed. Results show that coarse aggregate size affects strength; at 28 days, split 2/3 aggregate achieved the highest strength (11.444 MPa), followed by split 1/2 (11.274 MPa) and screening (8.152 MPa). The novelty lies in using excavation sand with varying coarse aggregate sizes, offering a more economical, environmentally friendly, and locally adaptable concrete solution
